Many call this type of creamy pasta sauce: Vodka Sauce, my version is just basic spaghetti sauce mixed with Alfredo sauce and its AMAZING!!!
Today was my first day of school after the christmas break and I had NO desire to make anything fancy for dinner. This recipe is high on my list for last minute meals. This is also a great adjustable recipe, make as little sauce or as much sauce as you want. It can stay in the fridge for 7-10 days and is yummy on all different types of pasta, raviolis, and tortellinis!
I am lucky enough to have a Trader Joes with in 15 minutes of my house (see if there is one near you!) and I get these tortellinis for $1.99!!!!
your favorite spaghetti sauce
your favorite alfredo sauce or homemade (recipe below)
Boil tortellinis according to package
Mix Spaghetti Sauce & Alfredo Sauce together. (1:1 ratio – 1 cup spaghetti sauce for every 1 cup alfredo)
**I had 1/2 a can of spaghetti sauce in my fridge so I added my alfredo sauce into jar of spaghetti sauce and shook it up! Seriously….EASY PEASY!
Homemade Alfredo Sauce: (I made this while tortellinis were boiling)
1 stick butter
1 clove of garlic
1 pint cream (or 2 cups whole milk)
1 cup parmesan cheese
2 tbls cream cheese
Melt butter in medium pan, add garlic and let sauté for 2-3 minutes (until it smells amazing!)
Add cream or butter, parmesan cheese, and cream cheese. Bring to a light boil and stir consistently to prevent burning.
Stir until all is melted and sauce begins to thicken. DONE!
